"600KB" is a digital image file that has an average file size of about 600 kilobytes when it is uncompressed*. This file usually averages about 570 x 350 pixels.

*Our images are delivered as quality compressed JPEG images that average about one-sixth their uncompressed file size, in order to allow for faster Internet delivery. Once received and decompressed, these files should be saved as TIFF files (for final use), and the original JPEG file archived for back-up.

**PPI stands for "pixels per inch". This term is often used synonymously with DPI or "dots per inch". However, "dpi" more correctly refers to the output dots that are used in printing. The Picture Elements ("Pixels") of RGB and greyscale digital imagery are converted to the dots used in most mechanical printing processes. Inkjet prints are reproduced with black, cyan, magenta and yellow dots, having various output resolutions (i.e. "600 x 600 dpi or "720 x 1440"). The larger halftone "dots" in laser printers, newspapers, newsletters, and 4-color offset printing are arranged in rows, and described as "line screen" resolution.
