We chose the Crane Building not only because it's a neat old building with lots of character and exposed brick on the interior, but also because its floors and ceilings are made of reinforced concrete. All in all, the building is made up of very few flammable materials. It also has a sprinkler system only in the basement. (Remember, more damage can often be caused by water than by fire to delicate color transparencies!) The floor we are on, once housed the offices and photo archives of the Utah Historical Society. |
