Stock photography, photos: Russian Mir - Tall Ship Stock photos of The Russian Mir was launched in 1988, one of the Choren B-95 class ships built at the Gdansk shipyard, her sister-ships being Dar Mlodjezy, Druzba, Khersones and Nadezhda. At 394 feet in length, this fully-rigged three masted ship was built specifically as a cadet training ship for the Russian Merchant Marine. The Mir has the capacity for 199 people, up to 144 of which may be cadets.
