Stock photography, photos: Sagres II - Tall Ship

Stock photos of The training ship Sagres was built in 1937/38 in the Blohm & Voss shipyard, Hamburg. She was then called Albert Leo Schlageter and was the third of a series of four ships. In 1962 Portugal purchases her in order to continue the kind of missions that had been long performed by a similiar ship called Sagres. Sometimes the Sagres is also known as Sagres II, but is in fact the third scholl vessel with this name. The first one was built in England in 1858 and used as a schoolship between 1882 and 1898. Today N.E. Sagres is known worldwide by the famous red crosses she carries in her square sails, the same as the portuguese discovery ships in the XV century.
