Zulu Krewe represents New Orleans' rich African American traditions and had its origins in 1909, becoming fully organized as the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club in 1916. They receive many invitations each year to perform at local churches, Gospel Concerts, schools, funerals, the Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Christmas in the Oaks sponsored by City Park of New Orleans.
