Stock photography, photos: Thomson's Gazelle - Tanzania

Stock photos of Thomson‚s Gazelle (Gazella thomsoni) in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania ˆ East Africa. The Thomsons gazelle is the most common gazelle in East Africa. It is most active at dawn and sundown, preferring to rest in the hottest part of the day. It lives in herds of up to 60 females and young, with a single adult male - but the structure of these herds is loose and varies from hour to hour. It feeds on grass, and to a lesser extent on leaves and shoots. Thomson's gazelle is relatively silent, and has well-developed senses of sight and smell. It is preyed on by most of the large carnivores.
