Stock photography, photos: Great Wall of China Stock photos of The Great Wall of China. Northwest of Beijing, the Badaling Great Wall is typical of the wall during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644AD). The Badaling section of the Great Wall snakes through the mountains and was built at the beginning of the 14th century. At an average 7.8 meters high and 5.8 meters wide at the top, it has battlements and watch towers at strategic points.
