Stock photos of The Temple of Confucius in Beijing, China. A pillar inscribed with the names of calligraphy scholars. The Temple of Confucius was initially built in 1302 and additions were made during the Ming and Qing dynasties. On either side of the front courtyard, 198 stone tablets are arranged. These tablets bear the names of 51,624 Jinshi of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, who passed the triennial imperial examinations.
