Cape Coast Castle was the seat of the British colonial government until it was moved to Accra. Cape Coast Castle was a trans-shipment point for slaves bound for the New World. It features several male and female slave dungeons, along with many cannons and fortifications. Cape Coast Castle has been preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
