Stock photography, photos: The Bakatue Regatta - Ghana Stock photos of The Bakatue Regatta is celebrated by the people of the Elmina traditional area. This colorful festival attracts tourists from far and near. There is a royal procession of Chiefs and Queenmothers, most of them riding in well-decorated palanquins through the principal streets to a sacred shrine where the Chief's Linguist pours libation and sprinkles sacred food. The durbar gathering is follow with a Regatta on the Benya Lagoon where local fishermen race traditional canoes. Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana, West Africa.
